Lyudmil Tonchev

Position: Laboratory manager/technician, PhD Student at CPSBB, Department Molecular Stress Physiology, CPSBB

Mr. Tonchev has a background in economics obtained from his studies at Cologne University, Germany but graduated in Molecular Biology at the Plovdiv University “Paisii Hilendarski”. Currently he is working as technician in department Molecular Stress Physiology at CPSBB and doing his PhD in Biotechnology. His main research is related to Haberlea rhodopensis gene functional analysis. As part of the RESIST project Mr. Tonchev was assigned at UCT South Africa to conduct several experiments with Xerophyta elegance related to drought, osmotic and cold temperatures stress.
