Dr. Veselin Petrov

Position: PhD, RESIST project manager, Department Funding, CPSBB, Plovdiv

Veselin graduated at Plovdiv University “Paisii Hilendarski”, where he also defended his PhD in Molecular biology. He teaches biochemistry at the Agricultural University Plovdiv and is the Head of department Funding at CPSBB. One of his duties at CPSBB is to manage the RESIST project. He will use his secondment to Cape Town as an opportunity for networking with colleagues from UCT and representatives of various companies during the ISF World Seed Congress 2023, as well as disseminating RESIST agenda and impact. Moreover, he will participate, together with Lyudmil Tonchev, in time-course experiments with Xerophyta elegans perturbed with osmotic stress.
